I honestly have no idea what the proper name for this thing is yet since I lost* the label for it. Until I decide what it really is I'll just call it a purple nurple.

*and when say lost I mean that I planted them right around the time my son learned how to walk, and pluck out Daddys plant labels and bury/break/hide them.
Lounging Turtle is happy that we finally have flowers.

A few plants in my nectar garden

blue glass

Globe ornament, and a huge sedum thats covered with bees all day.
At least I was wearing pants while taking the picture, otherwise the reflection in the ornament would be more R rated.

yellow daylily

Usually not a big fan of this color, but this one is ok.

sedum blooms

A nice burst of color until the asters start kicking in.

mantis

It was creeping around on my sons basketball hoop.

coneflowers @ balck-eyed susans

Pretty. Too bad I didn't get a pic of the butterflies that were there a few minutes ago.

orange daylily

I normally don't like the color orange anywhere, but in this case I'll keep it. The variegation helps a bit.

pink phlox?

The white phlox that I divided, it turned out this color. Smells the same, same leaf and flower shape. Just a different color. Cool.

more coneflowers

I'm not sure what kind this is. I need to check my garden journal. If I can find it.
I've been pretty lazy there.

Update: I must've bought it at a farmers market, because all my journal says is 'purple coneflower'. So it will forever remain a mystery.

'Magnus' coneflower

I love this plant. Its too bad its in a part of the yard that few ever see. But then again, I know where it is, so its my little secret.
OK, its not that little, its almost 4 feet tall. But still, I'm loving it in its little corner of our yard.

liatrus blooms

Looks wild and woolly. Kinda like me.

daylily

Pretty ain't it?
Don't ask me what kind it is though, a raccoon chewed up the label.
I wish I was kidding.

super squash

I planted these things a few months ago from seed. Each in a 6x6 raised bed.
Apparently thats not big enough. Yeesh.

white phlox

This thing smells awesome!
I'm working on taking cuttings to see if I can have more.
Of course I have no idea where I'd put them if they do grow, but thats just part of the fun.

Some daisy's and liatrus (blazing stars).

I've also got some white ones somewhere. I think.

I really suck at taking pictures of plants, but this one turned out nicely.

bee balm blooms

Last year I let this sucker become a big ol bush. This year, I took it down a few notches. It was overwhelming the other plants.
Sure is pretty, for the short time it blooms.
